DOC gets into gear
DOC have recently released their brochure on Four-Wheel driving in conservation areas, this provides some excellent advice on safety and protecting the environment when Four-Wheeling in DOC areas (also applicable anywhere else), this can be obtained from DOC offices or downloaded from their website. This includes tips for driving on beaches and around river beds, how to avoid spreading weeds and camping.

CRV - The Third Generation
The CRV has been a prime example of how a manufacturer can enter well almost create a new segment and have incredible success, for a period the CRV was the best selling 4WD in New Zealand bar none. It also showed how the segment has changed, 4WDs were suddenly not all about large, heavy and at times ungainly vehicles, whose sole virtue was their ability to travel off-road when required.

Woodhill Readers Trip
The final NZ4WD Readers Trip for 2006 was a return to Woodhill Forest just north west of Auckland. And final it was in more than one way. CHH have sold the rights to Woodhill and the new owners have yet to make a decision regarding recreational access for the future. By the time you are reading this we may know otherwise.
