Sneaking a Peek - Ford Escape preview 
Ford launched the revitalised Escape on June 15, but we were able to get an early look at the upgraded soft-roader fresh off the boat. We had the chance to take it for a drive and get some first impressions around the Mangere back roads. No FOB jokes, thanks. more
 
Dubai Desert Dash 
Negotiating steep razor back sand dunes and dodging four wheel drives of every description that travel in all directions through the harsh desert environment - Dubais annual overnight fun run is a real test of drivers skills  and patience. more

It’s an unusual situation for a vehicle to be released to the general public before the media gets a look in, but such was the case with the new 2006 model Hyundai Santa Fe.

Pouto Readers Trip 

This was the second time a NZ4WD Readers’ Trip had included Pouto Point and the historic Pouto lighthouse, at the entrance of the Kaipara Harbour. The task of actually getting there from Pouto Point was interesting in itself.

Tanks for the memories 

Something we’d all like to do is to drive a tank off-road. We narrowly missed out on the chance to drive the NZ Army’s Scorpion. Now that’s actually a light reconnaissance vehicle, rather than a tank, but it has tracks and a gun, so who cares?
