The All-New MG MGS5 EV – Electric SUV

New and tested 4WDs

It's currently only RWD, but there's speculation the MGS5 EV has an AWD version under development. The S5 is an all-electric SUV that combines operational efficiency, advanced technology, and robust practicality, making it a forward-thinking choice for owners looking to transition to electric mobility.

The MGS5 EV is built upon the same Modular Scalable Platform as the 5-star ANCAP-rated MG4, ensuring a foundation of safety and dynamic capability. The rear-wheel-drive configuration, paired with a sophisticated five-link rear suspension, provides stable and predictable handling, a key consideration for employee safety and driver confidence. All models are equipped with a powertrain delivering 125kW and 250Nm of torque, offering capable performance for both urban commutes and motorway travel.

To meet diverse business needs, MG offers two LFP battery options: a 49kWh version and a 62kWh version. This provides a range spectrum from a highly practical 340km (WLTP) up to 515km (NEDC), accommodating various travel requirements and mitigating range anxiety for your team. LFP batteries are also well-regarded for their long service life and thermal stability, contributing to a lower total cost of ownership and enhanced safety. Furthermore, the vehicle's impressive fast-charging capability—replenishing from 30% to 80% in just 19 minutes—minimizes downtime and maximizes productivity  on the road.

The MGS5 EV's interior is designed for functionality and comfort. A slim 110mm battery pack design maximizes cabin and cargo space. The vehicle boasts a generous 453 litres of boot space, which expands to a cavernous 1441 litres with the 40:60 split-folding rear seats, accommodating a wide range of business equipment and cargo needs.

Every model comes standard with a large 12.8-inch central touchscreen featuring wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The MG iSMART mobile app adds another layer of fleet management potential, allowing for remote monitoring of charging status and vehicle location. Premium 'Essence' trims further enhance the offering with features like a panoramic sunroof and a hands-free power tailgate.
