Get organised on the job

4WD Accesories

When your ute works for a living, Utemaster has the gear

Tired of tools sliding around in the back of the work ute? That ‘slide-bang’ under braking for a traffic light, stuff tipping over, the scratch marks on that nice new bed liner.
New Zealand-based ute accessory manufacturer Utemaster has launched another accessory for setting up a work ute that organises tools and presents them the way they should be – and gets rid of the ‘scratchy-slidy’ damage that harms the resale value of the vehicle.
This time, Utemaster has challenged the way traditional wellside drawers are installed. Typically, they are fitted by drilling and bolting through the floor of the wellside, which makes them difficult to install and leaves permanent holes in the floor.
That means dust and water can get into the tray, and the drilling is always a pathway for rust.
Utemaster has designed vehicle specific mounting brackets which are designed to bolt into the existing factory mounting points in the wellside. These are the same mounting points used for fitting their Centurion Canopy.
Utemaster says these products are designed for getting work done and enjoying life’s adventures. The drawer unit is removable to enable the vehicle to live its other lives – family transport, towing a boat or just exploring the outdoors.
If the owner needs to carry a large object in the wellside during the weekend the drawers can easily be removed to create more space.
The new drawer units tick all the boxes for a hard working tradie. The twin drawers have a combined load rating of 200kg. They also have a large opening of 950mm beyond the drawer shell making it easier and faster to access gear.
The top of the drawer unit is a loadable platform, ideal for transporting larger items such as a drop saw. Around the edges of the platform is a rail which features cut outs for tie downs. These can also be used to tie off gear so that it doesn’t slide around when driving.
When combined with the practicality of the Centurion Canopy and load-lid, it creates the ultimate wellside setup for getting work done during the week and enjoying life’s adventures after hours!
This product is available on Utemaster’s online ‘ute builder’, which allows the owner to build a dream set-up and order it off the website, www.utemaster.co.nz
