HAVE A GO DAY LATEST

Excitement is building as final arrangements are made for the second NZ4WD magazine Have Go Day to be held at Jeep Woodhill 4WD Park on November 21 from 9 am to 3pm.

As last year you can drive free on the specially laid-out circuit, and if that whets your appetite for more you can sign up to go into the 4WD Park proper and try out the trails there at the special reduced rate of $45.

Have a Go Day is aimed at those who own a 4WD but have never been off-road, and would like a taste of what it feels like in controlled conditions, a treat for the whole family.

The specially designed will give you a real feel for 4WD without you or you vehicle getting into trouble and there will be lots of expert helpers on hand.

If you do decide you like it so much you want to go into the park proper, remember all the trails  are rated according to their severity, catering for drivers from “newbie” through to expert, and the  main park will remain open until 5 pm.

You can come along in your own vehicle, with the family – and be ready for a fun-filled day.

A big treat, especially for the kids, is a trip on the Hagglund, a special tracked vehicle originally developed for use in Antarctica. This go-anywhere vehicle can do amazing things off-road, and you’ll have the best fun you’ve ever had. There’s a charge to ride in the Hagglund.

When you get to the park the first thing to do is register with the NZ4WD magazine team – this will allow you to go on the free drive – and if you then want to be more adventurous, the Jeep Woodhill 4WD Park team will be on hand to take care of that.

And if you want more, there’ll be a “play area” – for a small charge – where you can get your 4WD down and dirty in a real mud bog!

There’ll be a BBQ and cold drinks on sale to feed your hungry family, plus full toilet facilities and maybe a coffee cart.

4WD accessory and equipment retailers will also have stands so you can have a look at what’s on offer to improve your 4WD.

Jeep Woodhill 4WD Park is situated in Woodhill Forest near Helensville, west of Auckland. Take Highway 16 until Rimmer Road, and then follow the signs.
