On show to Kiwis for the first time at Fieldays, the Isuzu D-Max immediately began selling right from the site at Mystery Creek. “We were very surprised with the recognition of D-Max,” commented general manager Greg MacDonald. “People came in to say they’d heard Isuzu was returning - and they had much greater awareness of its features and benefits than we expected. “Better still, we sold a dozen vehicles during the four days, that really caught us by surprise. “We will begin delivering those pickups this week.” Three 4WD double-cab models are available nationwide, all with high rise suspension. Recommended retail prices, including GST: LX manual $48,990; LS manual $53,990; LS auto $56,990. All models are powered by the same 3-litre turbo-diesel and intercooled engine, delivering 122 kW and 360 Nm of torque from 1800 to 2800 rpm for the 5-speed manual, and 333 Nm at 1600 to 3200 rpm for the 4-speed automatic.
