Labour Day weekend marks the Wellington Jeep Jamboree, organised by the Wellington Jeep Club, and to be held at "CampWainui" situated in Wainuiomata, with on-site camping, and where all social activities will be held.
The Wellington area offers some of the best Jeep’n in the NorthIsland, ranging from bush creeks to big mountain streams through to muddy bush-lined historic logging tracks. Not only is the off-road driving great, but the scenery is amazing and unique and sometimes windy!
The Wellington Jeep Jamboree affords the opportunity to drive tracks that suit both individual driving experience and your Jeep's capabilities, and there will be three grades of tracks and on each day of the jamboree the organisers will be offering a variety of full day trips in each grade to choose from.
The club has access to tracks suitable for all, from shinies through to club truck and hard yakka.
Those taking part will be able to visit Orongaronga Station with the expansive vistas that is the southern coast of the NorthIsland. Climb up onto the head land overlooking the Cook Strait.
Easily accessible in your shiny Jeep and only a few minutes drive from CampJeep.You will be able to play on the shingle beach scree.
How about a day in the Akatarawa Forest Park, easy going in your shiny Jeep with hours of trouble free 4WDing, with river crossings, hill climbs, and muddy forestry tracks to test your skills.
For the more adventurous and capable club and hard yakka vehicles trucks there are the more challenging tracks in the park. The Ruts, The Rock Garden, Devils Staircase, the Roller coaster and 24 hour track to name but a few. You will need mud tyres, lockers and winches to master these tracks!
Then there is Rallywoods, the best 4WD playground in Wellington. Rock climbing, Mud plugging, hill climbing - you name it this place has got it. Meander along Cruza Drive and Nissan way to tracks like Dreamer, Hells Bells, Diff Dinger, and the Lookout.
Plenty to occupy the most hardened and battle weary Jeep driver!Finally to top an excellent weekends Jeepin’ we head to Sutherlands Track. A fullAll drivers must have a current driver's license, the vehicle must have a current registration and Warrant of Fitness, as well as a fire extinguisher mounted in a readily accessible place, first aid kit, and a spare tyre the same size diameter as your tyres, e.g: if you have 33 inch tyres, then your spare must also be 33 inch.

The BYO bar opens from between the hours of 4-6pm every night, depending on when everyone returns from their day’s jeeping, and a packed lunch will be supplied to all trip participants and sit-down dinner and entertainment will be supplied to all Jeepers on Saturday and Sunday nights. Costs: |
