Light emitting diode (LED) light bars are the latest ‘must-have’ accessory for the 4WD owner looking to personalise their vehicle, with a number of key advantages over traditional bulb-based options.

Auckland-based HELLA New Zealand was one of the first companies in the world to commercialise the technology, created its first ECE-compliant CHMSL (centre high mounted stop lamp) in 1990 and since then the company has gone on to produce a full range of LED-based lighting products which it now sells all over the world.
