Let Redarc power your summer adventure

4WD Accesories

Summer is on the way and with the warmer weather comes adventure. It’s the perfect time of year to pack up the car and head out. Whether you’re looking for a secluded beach getaway or getting stuck into some tough 4WDing while the tracks are dry, having a dual battery system is an easy way to make your summer travels more comfortable.

No matter if you’re wanting to get fully off-grid and escape the summer crowds or just keep your drinks cold at the beach, running 12v accessories from your start battery is a quick way to damage the battery and potentially leave you stuck without a way to get home.

A simple solution for this can be to just get a secondary battery to run your accessories, but without a way to recharge it, your available power is limited. To avoid this problem, you’ll want to utilise a DC to DC battery charger.

Installed between your starting and second battery, these chargers allow you to run your accessories from your second battery whilst recharging it as you drive via your vehicle’s alternator and start battery. This means that, as long as you keep driving and putting charge back into your secondary battery, there are no limits to your adventure.

Choosing a reliable DC to DC charger doesn’t have to cost you the earth thanks to Redarc’s new range of battery chargers, BCDC Core. Designed for situations where dust and weatherproofing aren’t required such as in-canopy or cabin installations, BCDC Core features Redarc’s trusted DC charging technology, an MPPT solar regulator, and Green Power Priority.

Available in 25A and 40A variants and compatible with both 12 and 24V standard and smart alternators, as well as all common battery chemistries including Lithium (LiFePO4), it’s the perfect DC charging solution for powering all your summer exploration.

If you’re wanting to take your dual battery system a step further, connect a solar panel or blanket to the BCDC Core thanks to the inbuilt solar regulator. With plenty of sun at this time of year, the BCDC Core can charge simultaneously from your vehicle’s alternator and solar panels meaning you get the maximum charge capacity even if you’re parked at camp.

If you’re planning to push your gear to the limits this summer, regardless of dust, water and heat, Redarc’s BCDC Classic range have fully sealed electronics, making them ultra-rugged and perfect for engine bay installations or any location that will be exposed to water crossings, high temperatures and unpredictable weather.

Like all Redarc products, the BCDC Core range is backed by nation-wide support, including a hassle-free warranty, and the REDNetwork certified installer network and after-sales service to answer any questions. Designed, tested and manufactured in Australia, power up for less this summer with the new BCDC Core.
