New Yamaha UTV

News and General

While it might be the all-singing, all-dancing YXZ1000R that is attracting the lion’s share of interest from the off-road community at the moment, Yamaha has also been busy on the work/play UTV front.

The fruit of the company’s labours in this regard is the new Wolverine R-Spec, a tough-torqueing, work-ready vehicle with a fun side.

Key to the Wolverine’s all-round work/play ability is its robust tubular spaceframe chassis, long-ish travel independent suspension front and rear, large capacity (708cc) ‘big-single’ engine mated to a seamless CVT transmission, and on-command 2/4WD/4WD + diff-lock drivetrain.

As tested the new R-Spec Wolverine that importer Moller Yamaha provided us with came in the cool, optional $25,299 camo bodywork with some genuine Yamaha accessories, including a trick, two-piece fold-down windscreen, and wrap up/down clear/camo rear screen.

Standard spec sees the Wolverine finished in Yamaha’s distinctive dark violet blue with an RRP of $24,149.
