4WD Sports
The CT Civil New Zealand Offroad Racing National Championship's final round has attracted a record 67-strong entry.
While the final round rarely attracts bigger grids than the six regional events, the 2025 final has the biggest field of the championship including a 21st century all-time record grid of 17 class three race cars.
With four days to go, 67 cars and trucks are lined up to race one of the best tracks in the sport at TECT Park, near Tauranga. Organisers are quietly confident of breaking through into a final entry of 70 or more race cars and trucks.
The two day event starts on Labour Weekend Saturday with short course racing on the Waikato club's track from 11.00 am; the final race of the 2025 championship on Sunday is a 150km enduro on a long course which includes the short course track. Spectator admission: $10 per adult, kids under 13 are free.

With just days to go, the event has:
- Eight class one cars, including multiple national champion Tony McCall.A full grid of 18 cars, best grid of the event and biggest class 3 grid of the year.
- Eleven youth-class Kiwitrucks.
- Seventeen UTVs 'side by side' race cars across S and U classes.
- Seven class 8 trucks.
Championship leader Carl Ruiterman goes into the weekend aiming to score an historic four titles in a row in his S class Yamaha UTV.
