The 2019 Superwinch Mainland Challenge kicks off - in Dunedin this time - in May.

That’s right, as the days get shorter, the nights longer and the high intensity of the mid-summer sun becomes but a memory, in sheds, garages and lock-ups all over the South Island (and in parts of the North) winch challenge enthusiasts beaver away at their trucks as the date of the first round of the new season’s Superwinch Mainland Challenge draws near.

This year the series starts in Dunedin then works its way up the Island. Round by round it looks like this;

Rnd 1 Dunedin May 10-11 2019

(hosted by LROCO). Contact Mike McCarthy 0272428655 or email mike@hydserv.co.nz

There will be night stages on the Friday night and day stages Saturday. May is typically wet

in the South so should be lots of mud, slippery banks and all the normal that you would

expect at a Winch Challenge.

Rnd 2 Blenheim May 31-June 02 2019

(hosted by Marlborough 4WD Club)

Contact Richard Gifford 0272 089175

Rnd 3 Timaru August 09-10

(hosted by Marlborough 4WD Club in Timaru)

Event will be held at Borndale Farm at Hunter inland from Makikihi. A “Show and Shine” will

be held along with sign-in at the Makikihi Hotel on the Friday afternoon. From there all

teams will head to the site and compete in five night stages. Saturday will have six day stages

and prize giving back at the Hotel.

Please note this is a ‘No Spectators’ event.’

(hosted by Nelson 4WD Club)
