Just when we were looking out for a standout aftermarket-modded 4WD for our June issue Products & Accessory Kit-Out feature a couple of pics of this stunning new Suzuki Jimny build popped into our email inbox.
As it turned out, the pics came from Hawke’s Bay Suzuki dealership Bayswater Vehicles.
There, switched-on marketing coordinator, Sydney Thant-Cyn, rightly surmised that a mag like NZ4WD might well be keen on running something on the tastefully upgraded Jimny so fired off an email with a couple of nice shots to whet our appetite.
Long story short, we replied with a ‘Hell yes, tell us more.’ the result of which is now here for all to see.
Proud owner Dean from Napier is a life-long 4WD devotee. To turn the otherwise showroom stock Jimny into the pukka little ‘Tuff Truck’ it now is Dean left it in the capable hands of the mechanical team at Bayswater.
There they embarked on a comprehensive list of upgrades which included adding:
- An ARB Bullbar plus winch and an 800mm lightbar up front.
- ARB Rocksliders.
- A special rear carry tray.
- 50mil suspension lift including springs and shock absorbers.
- Diff and transfer case breathers.
- Centre console arm rest.
- Snorkel.
- Roof rack with LED spotlights.
- Reversing camera.
- Hydraulic bonnet stays.
- A set of 8” rims with 20mil negative offset, to which are mounted...
- A set of Hankook Dynapro MT2 30x9.5OR15 tyres.
