Total RV introduces New Age off-road caravans

News and General

Total RV has teamed up with New Age Caravans owned by the world-famous Walkinshaw Group to New Zealand. Total RV is a locally owned and operated business at 3/70 Forge RD, Silverdale, Auckland, with a huge range of caravans on display.

Total RV’s, Luke O’Donnell and Daniel Scott, are extremely passionate about all things caravans and motorhomes. Together they have been in the industry for over 20 years, with a background of installation, repairs and management which they are still doing today. Luke and Daniel are proud to put their names and years of experience behind the New Age brand.

New Age caravans have been in the industry for over two decades. They started out in 2004 building high end CNC components and cabinetry for other large caravan manufacturers, before switching to caravan production in 2008. Since then, New Age Caravans have been bought out by the Walkinshaw Group. Walkinshaw has years of design and engineering experience in the high-performance racing industry and is currently investing in the V8 supercars.

Total RV’s Luke O’Donnell says the New Age’s Road Owl Expedition caravans are the flagship models, offering a multi berth 19ft bunk ensuite version and a 21ft ensuite format, both built for adventure. “These caravans are designed for offroad durability and comfortable living. They combine style and comfort with the strength and durability required for the outdoor lifestyle Kiwis love.”

Every caravan has a state-of-the-art Walkinshaw one-piece galvanised hot dipped chassis. The Caravans are manufactured in Australia and are fully ADR compliant. New Age caravans have access to the only seven post rig in the country that can reproduce 30,000 kms in a matter of hours, ensuring that all New Age Caravans are built to last.

The entire Expedition range has Cruisemaster XT independent suspension, full under-body ABS protective floor and checker plate protection, with a d035 hitch. These caravans are built to be tough and durable for any adventure.

Bosch Tow Assist (TSC) Trailer Safety Control and ABS brakes are standard on all Expedition models, which monitors individual wheel speeds and activates the ABS brakes on the trailer to significantly increase the stability of the trailer and tow vehicle. Sway mitigation and the lane change assist detect critical driving situations like trailer sway or swerving manoeuvres and apply the brakes independently of the driver to keep the trailer stable.

Inside, there is a large living and dining area with plenty of space for friends and family to sit, extendable footrests and a premium fusion all in one sound system. All the comforts of home are on board, including a full oven, recessed cooktop, microwave oven, three-way fridge and his and hers wireless mobile phone chargers in the bedroom.

The bathroom is spacious and well equipped, and throughout the caravan there is a large range of storage options for clothing and linens.

Recessed interior mood lighting creates a warm and homely feeling.

The outdoor living has a full 17ft awning compete with extendable picnic table rated to 30kg.

A handy aluminium storage box is mounted behind the stone guard on the drawbar for added space and gas bottle storage.

Camping remotely and off-grid is simple, with dual 100ah lithium batteries and 2 x 200w solar panels supplying the caravan’s energy needs.

Tare weight of the bunk/ensuite version is 2,600kg; drawbar down-load weight is 140kg, well within the capability of all leading mid-size utes.

“New Age caravans really suit the Kiwi outdoor lifestyle, creating a comfortable home base for offroad adventures,” says Luke O’Donnell.
