What’s that on your Jimny?

News and General

Mountain goat and beach boss, the Suzuki Jimny is New Zealand’s favourite small 4WD for a reason. It goes places bigger  4WDs can’t and has ‘fun’ stamped on its DNA.

Planning to enter the Jimny’s natural habitat? Suzuki has a huge range of gear to make it easy. Start with some basic protective measures – rubber floor mats. They’re easy to remove, hose down and throw back in for the next set of muddy gumboots or sandy feet.

Same applies for cargo in the back. Cover the rear seats and boot with a durable cargo tray or a rubber mat to keep the  organised mess from becoming permanently applied.

Take care of the underside with a diff guard and topside with a slick looking (and UV resistant) bonnet protector. Install an  airbag-compatible ARB bull bar on the front to mount driving lights or a ‘get out of a pickle’ safety winch.

Expand carrying capacity with a strong roof rack. Add a storage box from Yakima to keep everything dry. Hook up a small trailer to the tow bar.

The range of accessories doesn’t stop there. Go for a throwback to Jimny’s legendary cult status with a heritage style grille,  keeping the original for when it’s time for a change. Add some side-body moulds and mud flaps to protect the paint from  scratching and chipping.

Attach weathershields to keep the rain and wind out. And slap on a black Suzuki cover over the spare wheel, just because you can.

Already have a Suzuki Jimny three-door or five-door, or thinking about getting one? Give the local Suzuki dealer a call. With  36 dealerships nationwide, they’re more than happy to help you kit out a Jimny for Kiwi adventures.
