Snack on real meat!
Quite often when you’re out 4WDing you want something quick and easy to eat, while giving a strong flavour and a meaty lift.
Jack Link’s is the world’s largest producer of meat snacks. Most New Zealanders would be unaware that meat snacks are a multi-billion dollar snack food throughout the world, second only to potato snacks in the USA in sales value.
Each week Jack Link’s NZ plant in Mangere ships out many tons of beef jerky (similar in concept to South African biltong) to all parts of the world, including New Zealand retail stores, and New Zealanders are fast discovering the great taste and many positive attributes of this snack food.
Jack Link’s products are made from premium quality lean New Zealand beef which has been seasoned and slow smoked to create a low fat, high protein, delicious snack for everyday enjoyment.
The story of Jack Link's Beef Jerky is a story of family traditions. It began with treasured family recipes that were passed from generation to generation, ultimately transforming a small North Woods business into one of the fastest-growing meat snack manufacturers in the world.
The foundation was laid in the 1880s, when Jack Link's great-grandfather went to America from the Old Country, and settled in the wilderness of northern Wisconsin. Tucked away in his belongings were some of his most prized possessions - his sausage recipes. Link's sausages and smoked meats became legendary among Wisconsin's great North Woods. This tradition continues today.
The Jack Link’s New Zealand manufacturing plant was opened in July 2002, and it’s a state-of-the-art production facility which conforms to the HACCP based Food Safety Programme. This ensures the very highest standards and ultimately provides our consumers with a greater level of confidence in product quality and consistency.
The snacks include Beef Sticks, Steak Bars and the more traditional Beef Jerky. These tasty ready-to-eat snacks can be found at all good supermarkets and convenience stores. www.jacklinks.co.nz
