AFWE FOR RAMSEY
Advanced Four Wheel Equipment is situated at Airport Oaks in Auckland, and is the New Zealand distributor for the American-made Ramsey Winches.
All Ramsey designs evolve from field experience. They build an extensive line of towing and recovery winches and they supply all the major US tow truck companies.
In fact, more than 80 percent of US tow truck operators surveyed prefer Ramsey to any other winch.
Ramsey self-recovery winches range in pulling capacity from 2,500 lb (1,133 kg) to 15,000 lb (6,800 kg) in both 12v and 24v.
In addition to an extensive range of planetary gear winches they offer worm-geared winches that offer brute strength and reliability.

Airplex: STRONGER IN STEEL
In a market flooded with ute canopies, Airplex’s SteelTop really does stand out from the crowd. It has an impressive list of standard features and is claimed to be the only canopy in the world to offer true twin wall construction for strength and style.
As the name suggests, the canopies are made of pressed steel, like the ute itself. This means although they are a similar weight to a fibreglass canopy of the same specification, they offer better load carrying capacity on their integrated roof rack without the need for further internal reinforcement.
SteelTops keep your cargo safe and dry as they are 100 percent waterproof.
The rear door offers better security as the glass (with rear demister) is mounted in a steel frame, as on a station wagon. This is stronger and more secure than frameless glass systems.
This frame also houses the double rotary lock mechanism with single door release.
Standard features include: pressed steel construction, colour matched paint, full interior lining, interior light, framed rear door, waterproof, double rotary locks, sliding tinted windows, rear demister, internal door release, integrated roof-rack.
In addition, Airplex can offer the SteelTop in the “Easy-Cab” style that replaces the tailgate with a full rear door like a station wagon’s and which offers the user greater reach, better weather protection and quicker access.

WHAT IS DPCHIP?
DPChip is an additional interactive computer which exploits the full potential of modern EFI diesel engines.
Individual programming and temporary re-mapping of the engine management system enables this simple-to-fit device to increase power and torque by as much as 35 percent, says the manufacturer.
DPChip works by altering fuel, timing and air characteristics to create smooth power gains, reading the engine management system to calculate and deliver “real time” alterations to the engine management’s own signals with digital precision and speed.
More power is delivered throughout the rev range with torque (pulling power) delivered lower down and lasting much longer throughout the rev range.
DPChip can be further adjusted manually or via laptop to provide optimum performance for your particular needs, especially if you modify your engine with extras such as a custom turbo, intercooler or exhaust.
Its makers also claim DPChip can provide up to 10 percent better fuel economy through more efficient engine management and less gear changing.
DPChip is installed downstream of the ECU leaving all error detection and operational safety systems intact, and it cannot harm the vehicle’s ECU.
It simply unplugs to return the vehicle to standard and is transferable between vehicles, and each DPChip model covers a large range of applications. If you sell or change vehicles simply unplug DPChip and install it in your next EFI diesel.
DPChip is backed by Australia’s Berrima Diesel Service which has been in the industry since 1956.
It comes with a 5-Year warranty, 30-day money back guarantee and new vehicle engine and driveline warranty, and is available in NZ now.
STRONG AS SPEEDLINER
With an industry leading tear strength of 865 lbs/inch and 4700 psi tensile strength, Speedliner claims to be the strongest spray-on ute deck Liner in the industry (independent test results available).
It can also be colour tinted to virtually any colour, using the finest automotive paint tints, and has excellent colour retention and its makers say it will not fade and go chalky - the colour is infused throughout the entire liner and is not just a top coat.
The secret behind its strength is that it uses a slow cure system which allows it to develop its strength while it cures.
The special type of urethane used is much more expensive to manufacture but the end result is what sets it apart from others.
Unlike a drop-in liner Speedliner has a non-slip surface and is bonded directly to the ute deck surface which eliminates any chance of under-liner corrosion.
Any vehicle accessories, such as tie-downs are able to be retained just as they left the factory.
With a network of 20 applicators throughout New Zealand from Whangerei to Invercargill, Speedliner is available not only in the large cities but in smaller towns as well.
Speedliner is a Toyota New Zealand approved accessory and is available on new Toyota Hiluxes through the Toyota dealer network.
STAUN PRODUCTS
Staun was born from a simple idea that originated from a 4WD driving outing off the coast of Australia.
Prior to enjoying some off-roading, two of the company directors noticed all of the other 4WD drivers down on their haunches, squatting uncomfortably to deflate their tyres.
Everyone was using an assortment of devices from keys to matchsticks while juggling torches in their mouths and tyre gauges in their hands in an effort to let their tyres down quickly.
The company directors thought there had to be a better way than this - so they spent the next two years researching and refining their ideas - resulting in the Staun Tyre Deflator, a simple and fast device that lets you accurately deflate your tyres.
In the past three to four years the company has expanded rapidly and has added more products to it range.
They include Staun internal bead locks, Massojet under-body buddy, 4WD cleaning solutions and rust inhibitors, and the all new Staun Super Strap, which is a must-have accessory.
Its unique construction allows you to weave a strong loop at each end in seconds and you can easily attach it around anything and make it the perfect desired length, with the pulling action making it a non-slip grip.
Afterwards you can un-weave it and store it when you are done – it’s the smartest strap you will ever own.
The full range of Staun Products are stocked, sold and backed through the ARB NZ Network nationwide, with a free Staun catalogue available on request.
