Full Throttle accelerates into October

The 2011 Full Throttle Festival at Manukau’s TelstraClear Pacific Events Centre will feature the fastest and freshest off-road race and 4WD vehicles,  along with a spectacular three day free programme of static display and action ranging from drift cars to competition karts and V8 Rod and Custom cars.
Held over all three days of Labour Weekend, the event is a celebration of all things automotive and motorsport.
The 4WD and off-road racing set will be there in force along with a motocross/supercross race event that attracts hundreds of riders, race demonstrations from the ATV (quad) racing fraternity and static displays and races for the new KiwiTruck junior off-road race category.
Among the full size off-road race and 4WD vehicles is the new Cooper Tyres Nissan Pathfinder V6 of Jared McGillivray and a new American race truck being prepared for its competition debut by Kevin Hall.
Tony McCall’s new BSL Terra Chev is being rebuilt after its troubled Taupo debut and is expected to be on static display all three days, taking ot the grassed race track on the Monday.
The New Zealand Army will have a Unimog on site on the Saturday of Labour Weekend, offering rides to festival fans; and on the same day the military vehicle enthusiasts will display a wide range of Jeeps, trucks, armoured cars and more, many of them having seen service in WW2.
There will be opportunities to ride in the military vehicles during the day in exchange for a gold coin donation.
A dedicated action area will cater to the four wheel drive and off-road racing fraternity, enabling them to put on a show for the crowd.
Winch challenge, off-road race and trials vehicles are all invited to be part of the programme and organiser Mark Baker says owners of suitable 4WD  vehicles who would like to join the Full Throttle Festival and put them on display or be part of the off-road action can contact him on 021 2120607 or
