Chrysler Group has released images of the all-new Jeep Grand Cherokee, expected here early next year. Highlights of the new Jeep include a choice of three 4WD systems, new Jeep Quadra-Lift air suspension and Selec-Terrain systems, and towing capability of 3,300 kg. On-road dynamics are improved courtesy of new independent front and rear suspension systems and a new body structure that dramatically increases torsional stiffness. Also new is Chrysler Group’s 3.6-litre Pentastar V6 engine that boasts an 11 percent improvement in fuel economy and promises up to 10.2 litres/100 km and more than 800 km on one tank of petrol. Completely re-engineered and redesigned– with a new body, panoramic dual-pane sun roof and premium soft-touch materials inside – it will be built at the Jefferson North assembly plant in Detroit.
