Explore with Goodyear Wrangler

News and General

Goodyear has a long and proud history of innovation in off-road tyre technology, which is reflected in the Wrangler tyre range.

Goodyear Wrangler tyres are highly regarded around the world by 4WD enthusiasts. They are the original equipment choice of many vehicle manufacturers, with Wrangler fitted to many of New Zealand’s most popular 4WDs like the Ford Ranger, the Ford Everest, and the Land Rover Defender.

The newest addition to the Goodyear Wrangler range of 4WD and SUV tyres is the DuraTrac RT. Engineered for off-road exploration across rugged terrains, the DuraTrac RT is perfect for those who drive 70/30 off-road/on-road, be it tackling rugged worksites, outdoor weekend adventures, or everyday highway driving.

Evolving from the iconic Wrangler DuraTrac, the DuraTrac RT has been enhanced with the latest innovations in off-road tyre technology, ensuring more robust protection and superior traction to go explore. Incorporating an all-light-truck tyre construction, DuraTrac RT features increased levels of grip with strength and durability to tackle a range of tough terrains.

Enhancements of the Wrangler DuraTrac RT include:
•    Tread: a new, optimised tread pattern with solid tread blocks and more biting edges provides superior grip and traction in mud and other rugged conditions. The bold, attractive appearance clearly showcases Wrangler DuraTrac RT’s capability.
•    Light Truck Construction: more robust construction and the introduction of Tri-Shield Technology – a thicker, three-ply sidewall, increasing strength for greater resistance to abrasions and cuts from rocks and sharp objects.
•    Traction: DuraEdge Technology extends deep tread features over the shoulder of the tyre onto the upper sidewall, adding side-biters to help enhance traction and delivering greater protection against rocks and extreme off-road hazards.
•    Compound: Wrangler DuraTrac RT retains the proven, durable tread compound of the original DuraTrac, lauded for its hard-wearing characteristics, outstanding traction and greater resistance to cutting and chipping in extreme conditions.
•    Protection: built-in rim protection increases the defensive barrier against scratches and wheel damage in rough terrain to help keep rims looking their best.

Benchmarked at Goodyear’s proving ground, the Wrangler DuraTrac RT boasts a 10 percent improvement in wet handling, a 10 percent improvement in dry handling and even better off-road performance in mud and sand than the already accomplished DuraTrac.

The Wrangler DuraTrac RTis available in 28 sizes in 15” to 20” rim diameters for fitments covering most popular 4WD and light trucks. Whether navigating through rugged trails, cruising down the beach or heading down the highway, the combination of advanced technology, durability, and performance found in Goodyear Wrangler tyres is the perfect choice.
