JAC T9 PHEV Ute

New and tested 4WDs

JAC have officially launched their much-anticipated T9 PHEV ute at Fieldays, with stock due to arrive late July to early August and pre-orders open now.

Introductory pricing will be a very competitive $59,990. The T9 PHEV features two electric motors to give 4WD and three electric diff locks (Front, centre and rear). The EV only range is quoted at 100km NEDC (WLTP figure to come) with real world open road local testing giving 85+km range. The combined power is 360kW and the T9 has a 3,500 tonne braked tow rating and a 915kg payload capacity. The PHEV model has achieved a 5-star ANCAP rating.

As well as the diff locks there are dedicated off-road and crawl modes plus quick access to a variety of specific modes such as sand and snow.

Specifications are towards the top end with a number of features not on the diesel model such as telescopic steering, the only feature not available is a sunroof and yes it still has the T9’s signature pie warmer.

A short drive showed that there is good power delivery and the ute is quiet and smooth, specific suspension tuning is being finalised in Australia prior to production commencing to “localise” the ride and handling to down under conditions
