New Outlander on the way

News and General

The all-new third-generation Mitsubishi Outlander has been revealed – and it will be in New Zealand showrooms before the end of the year.
The new Outlander has what Mitsubishi calls Smart-MIVEC 2-litre and 2.4-litre petrol engines which use up to 19 percent less fuel than current models, and it’s now for the first time available with a 2.2-litre diesel, with exceptional low-down torque.
Interior features include a new, soft-touch premium look, and although still the same size as before, better use of the available space makes it seem bigger, especially for third row passengers, and when you fold down the rear seats you discover a bigger-than-ever 1.7m-long floor, with easy access via a power tailgate.
Other key additions to the feature list are the extra comfort of dual-zone air conditioning and a rear-view monitor system that’s integrated, along with satellite navigation, into the seven-inch touch screen audio panel.
There’s a new level of safety technology, automatically keeping you safely clear of the vehicle in front or braking to help avoid a collision.
Five of the six petrol or diesel-engined models have 4WD, electronically-controlled or for daily use, there’s an eco, mode that shifts from two driven wheels to four when it senses the road getting slippery. More details next month.
