Rebel rides in

News and General

Ram is bringing its off-road focused 2025 1500 Rebel to New Zealand as the brand prepares to celebrate its 10th anniversary.

As is the case with all other variants in the MY25 Ram 1500 line-up, Ram Trucks NZ has opted to equip the Rebel with a long list of features that are optional extras in the US.

The Rebel is powered by the new-generation twin-turbo in-line 3.0-litre six-cylinder ‘Hurricane’ engine which produces more power and torque than the outgoing V8 engine. With outputs of 313kW and 635Nm, the Standard Output ‘Hurricane’ engine has 7.6 per cent more power and 14.2 per cent more torque than the previous 5.7-litre Hemi V8 (291kW and 556Nm).

With the Hurricane engine, Ram 1500 accelerates from 0 to 100kmh in 6 seconds or less – faster than V8s in the category, including the previous Hemi.

"We know Kiwi ute buyers don’t just want tough; they want uncompromising capability. The Rebel delivers with black-accented tough-truck styling, a heavy-duty payload, increased ground clearance, off-road suspension and tyres, and a 4.5-tonne towing capacity," said Todd Groves, Ram Trucks New Zealand General Manager.

"The Rebel also packs premium features typically reserved for top-spec US models, including a panoramic sunroof, 19-speaker audio, a 14.4-inch touchscreen, and heated and cooled seats, because you shouldn’t have to choose between capability and luxury. And with a heavy-duty tow bar included as standard, it’s ready to work straight from the showroom”.
