Subaru shows its Uncharted SEV

News and General

Subaru says its all-new, all-electric Uncharted will arrive as the product decades of vehicle engineering: the potency and precision of WRX, the balance and corner-carving agility of BRZ and the sure-footed, multi-terrain capability of its SUV range. Each of those characteristics has shaped the Uncharted into a vehicle that is composed and confident, yet responsive, engaging and unmistakably alive.

Inside, a 14-inch high-definition centre touchscreen puts navigation, media and vehicle settings within immediate reach, while a 7-inch LCD Multi-Information Display keeps critical vehicle data clearly in the driver's sightline. A Panoramic 360° View Monitor delivers greater awareness of the vehicle's surroundings, and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto alongside dual wireless phone charging help ensure the driver's digital world remains within reach. Physical buttons remain for often-used controls.

Multi-colour ambient lighting, a digital rear-view mirror and a 10-speaker Harman Kardon® audio system complete a cabin that feels as premium as it performs.

Underneath is a dual-motor all-electric powertrain producing a combined 252 kW, working with Subaru Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive to distribute power to all four wheels in real time.

Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive works alongside Dual-mode X-Mode with Grip Control, Downhill Assist Control and a Multi-Terrain Monitor to keep the Uncharted composed and confident well beyond the edge of the sealed road. With 211 mm of ground clearance, it is prepared for rough road and offroad work.

The Uncharted’s 0 to 100km/h time is five seconds with no lag or hesitation.

A 74.7 kWh CATL lithium-ion battery is mounted low within the chassis, lowering the centre of gravity, sharpening the handling and delivering a driving range of up to 522km.

An advanced thermal management system helps keep performance consistent under sustained load and demanding conditions.

When it is time to recharge, up to 150 kW DC fast charging takes Uncharted from 10 to 80 per cent in around 30 minutes5.

Outside, the Uncharted has a fastback-inspired silhouette and steeply sloping roofline, almost seamlessly blended rear door handles and striking LED lighting completes the design.

Uncharted’s advanced safety system brings together an intelligent suite of safety and driver assistance systems designed to support every journey without intruding on it. Subaru Safety Sense actively monitors the road ahead, providing collision avoidance assistance and lane assistance at speed, while Vision Assist extends that awareness to blind spots, rear cross traffic and safe door opening on busy streets. A Driver Monitoring System completes the picture, reading attention levels and fatigue in real time.

The all-new Uncharted joins the updated Solterra and the all-new Trailseeker in Subaru Sport Electric Vehicle (SEV) range.
