An iconic event on the calendar, the Maxxis NZ Methven Mud and Steel is about socialising and having fun with a little competition between great mates/friends and like-minded people. Saturday night social BBQ provided. There is a Give it a go class for all the beginners/ first timers or those who just want to have a little fun running over 3 night stages, selected Day Stages on clubman/ challenge lines.
Located 20 min south west of Methven.
There are 3 night stages Friday Night and 10 day stages Saturday, 2hr 4WD Enduro format Sunday.
Entry fee is $160 per team for non NZFWDA members. $140 For NZFWDA members prof of current NZFWDA membership must be proven at sign in by Driver or Navi. This includes BBQ Dinner Saturday night and Sunday lunch for Driver and Navi, extra crew BBQ can be ordered for extra cost.

Scrutineering of competition vehicles 5-6pm on Friday.
Trucks must have a roof over at least the driver & passenger. It is recommended that trucks also have a roll cage, but not compulsory. Helmets are compulsory, helmets must have a face lens or goggles.
There is a minimum tire size of 31” @ 30psi and a maximum tire size of 37” @ 30psi. Each team must have a minimum of 1 ground anchor (compulsory).
Trucks do not need to have a registration or WOF but will need to pass event scrutineering.
Normal Club Safety requirements apply i.e. Fire extinguisher, snatch straps, winch, front & rear recovery hooks, PRS radio, seatbelts and first aid kit.
