Usiing technology in the outdoors

Take them everywhere. An Emergency Position Indicating Radio Beacon (EPIRB) or Personal Locator Beacon (PLB) is a lifesaver. These beacons are used by emergency services to find those who have gone astray or been struck down by an emergency situation.
EPIRBs are designed specifically for maritime applications. They quickly alert authorities as to the whereabouts of distressed vessels and their crews, while PLBs (as their name suggests) alert authorities to the whereabouts of individuals.
“I’ll never need one of those, I can take care of myself in the outdoors.” Pretty much famous last words from outdoorsy types. The media regularly carries stories of bush walkers and Barry Crump types who have had cause to use a PLB – or wish they’d taken one along.
GME is the only Australian manufacturer of emergency beacons and has been designing, engineering, and manufacturing EPIRBs and PLBs for more than 30 years. In that time its beacons have been used to save hundreds of lives around the world.

XRS-390C: Rugged radio, redefined.
Anybody who has gone into an amazing off-road location will also know the frustration of trying to communicate with another vehicle in the group. The country’s mobile phone coverage actually doesn’t extend much beyond our state highway network.
GME offers the first UHF CB radio to feature a built-in GPS receiver, offering true location awareness without relying on a smartphone to provide GPS location data. Australia’s only manufacturer of UHF CB radios and an industry leader in communication technology for more than 60 years, GME is proud to introduce the latest addition to the Australian made XRS Connect range of UHF CB Radios, the XRS-390C.
The XRS-390C underwent design, engineering, and manufacturing at the company’s head office in Western Sydney. It offers a full range of market-leading features including IP67 Ingress Protection and a MIL-STD 810G rating. The latter is a US-devised test process that defines environmental stress sequences, durations, and levels of equipment life cycles. It is used to evaluate equipment’s performance when exposed to a life cycle of environmental stresses in tough conditions.
GME says this makes the XRS-390C its toughest radio yet.
This radio has been specifically developed to suit 4WDs, UTVs and other vehicles operating in challenging conditions. Both the hideaway main unit and the rugged OLED speaker microphone are dustproof and waterproof, ensuring ultra-reliable performance in the toughest environments.
The class-leading XRS-390C sets a new benchmark for UHF CB Radios and is backed by GME’s five-year warranty.
