Maintaining the beast

News and General

Regular maintenance can save you thousands of dollars over the life of your 4WD, be it a competition winch challenge rig or daily 4WDriver.

In the April issue of NZ4WD we asked regular contributors Vicky Newport and Geoff Anders to give us their views on 4WD maintenance.

Vicky used the example of her husband, Scotty Newport, and what he does to keep top level Winch Challenge trucks running sweat.

Geoff, meanwhile, started at the other end of the spectrum with a Maintenance 101 feature for those new both to 4WDs and venturing under the bonnet.

As Vicky says: ‘Proper maintenance carried out between challenges/rounds on your winch truck helps keep them going and possibly prevents mechanical damage.”
