Solutions for all situations
With so many different options available, it’s hard to know exactly what solution is right for a specific setup. Redarc has broken down the three most popular charging solutions to get a 4WD charged and ready for adventure.
Battery isolator
Perfect for: fixed voltage alternators, budget builds and under-bonnet installations.
Cost effective and a great set-and-forget option, Redarc’s SBI senses battery voltage and disconnect when a specific voltage is reached, switching to connect and charge the secondary battery. When the alternator stops running, the isolator will disengage the auxiliary battery from the start battery.
DC-to-DC battery charger
For more flexibility or to charge from solar, a DC-to-DC battery charger is the solution. Redarc’s ‘set and forget’ BCDC DC-to-DC chargers can not only detect battery type and provide optimal charge voltage, but they can also take power from solar or the vehicle’s alternator. Perfect for variable voltage alternators, Redarc’s BCDC is now available in two models, the traditional BCDC Classic, and the brand-new BCDC Core.
BCDC Classic
Perfect for: installation anywhere with exposure to dirt, dust, water or harsh vibrations.
For a charger that can be mounted under the bonnet, the BCDC Classic is the way to go. With fully sealed electronics, it’s a charger that can handle anything.
BCDC Core
Perfect for: canopy or in-cabin installations and budget builds
If you’re planning to install your charger into a canopy or the cabin of your vehicle, with no budget it can’t handle, the new BCDC Core could be a great option. It’s perfect for tucking away in a side panel, hiding behind seats or mounting on the power wall of your canopy.
Battery management system
Perfect for: canopy, in-cabin, camper trailer and caravan installations, those who want increased monitoring and an all-in-one solution
Battery management systems combines the functionality of a battery isolator and dual battery charger into a single unit. Featuring DC-to-DC battery charging, 240V charging, battery isolation, a load-disconnect controller, solar regulator and remote monitoring all in a single unit, Redarc’s Manager30 is a great option if you’re wanting DC charging and full visibility of your system.
