Introducing: the Kiwi off-road caravan

News and General

Built for adventure: the new Kiwi single axle offroad caravan may well be the most capable ‘home away from home’ to venture into New Zealand’s wild places.

At 13’6” the Kiwi is compact enough to get into challenging spots that are off limits to bigger caravans, but it’s fully featured and jam-packed with all the features 4WD enthusiasts would expect in a full-size van.

The Kiwi is 100 percent Australian made, built in Melbourne on an Australia 150mm steel Duragal chassis.
It can be configured with two single beds or a queen east/west bed format.

Most importantly, it is “ridiculously capable” of tackling all terrain and off-road tracks and trails in New Zealand.

The Kiwi has a full-size shower and toilet cubicle – all internal, meaning no rush out into the cold or rain. For warm weather holidays, there is also an external shower (hot and cold) – ideal for rinsing off mud or sand after an adventure.

The kitchen is fully functioned, with a 175L compressor fridge freezer, stovetop, grill and gas oven, supported by an instant hot water system.

Making efficient use of the interior space, there are savvy space saving furnishings including a slide away internal dining table. All the furniture is CNC cut and designed specifically for the Kiwi.

The chassis is a flat-floor design with no wheelarch intrusions to compromise living space. There are two 95l fresh water tanks along with a 95L grey water tank.

The frame itself is CNC cut steel and there is a one-piece honeycomb floor with excellent strength and insulation. Likewise, the roof is a 38mm thick one-piece insulated panel.

Off-grid power comes from two 210w solar panels feeding a lithium battery management system with two 100Ah AGM batteries.

There’s plenty of storage space built into the caravan.
